Were Back!!

Wild ride to the West! Well at least west to Utah and Oregon (with a short stop in Idaho). We took a long vacation up to the family, both of them. Isaac starts training soon and since his brother, Adam, was getting married we decided to make a big trip out of it. Fly out of San Antonio, stay with the Nichole's family, then drive 10 hours to Oregon to stay with Ike's family and see his brother get married, and back 10 hours to Utah for a few days. Thank goodness for Stinky (Nic's parents gas champ corrolla, 35 mpg!!!).

Ike went hunting with the boys up in Utah, we watched movies, went to the parks, saw the grandparents and hung out with cousins. We visited the fine eating establishments of Orem, UT, Go Bailey's! And of course we partook of Apple Beer, and other delicious, yet non-alcholic brews. And of course the highlight was seeing our new nephew, Charlie!

Then off to Oregon, stopped in Moutain Home, nothing of note there...note to self actually, don't move to Moutain Home. Anyway, out in the country with the Hipples and the rest of the gang, Nathan and Rachel, Mariah and Clint, Adam and Melissa and Kimber and Gabe, Mary Kay and Jody, Grampa, Grandma, Gordy and Tweet, Jeri and Barb and the cousins from Idaho, you get the idea, and they were all up at Mom and Dad's!

Adam's wedding was nice, and unique, they are pretty much two peas in a pod, and man can they put on a show with kareoke! Anyway that was fun and of course we got to go swimming and boating, Maddie even rode on the tube with Ike and got tossed into the frigid waters of Lake Joseph. Wish we had a picture of that, funny for the parent's not so much for the little ones. The weather was beautiful and comfy, and the girls had a blast with their cousings, Makenna, Jack, Levi, chasing dogs, and cows, and deer and horse, making smores and picking Grandpa's rasberries, they even got to ride the horse, thanks to their Uncle Clint and Joxter (the horse)! Ike even got to be a cowboy for an afternoon up in the mountains with Clint. We aslo got to see a new member of the Hipple clan, baby Wyatt and that was great as well!

Aaaaand back to to Utah, 10 hours of course, and what would be more fun than stopping in Moutain Home again, and again, nothing of note. Ike went hunting again, the girls went shopping, we took the girls to Thanksgiving point and they got to feed the sheep and horses, and take a rustic wagon ride. Neena treated us to great food, we played with Nat's girls and watched our shows, terrorized Sadie and Nichole got as much loving with Charlie as she could. Overall it was a great vacation and the best part about it was not what we did, but the time we spent with our family. It is such a great feeling to go visit and still feel at home! Thank you everyone that made it a great vacation and we wish we could have stayed longer! We love you all!

Sea World

Only being 6 minutes from Sea World, it was hard not to buy the season pass~we actually ended up buying the 2008/2009 season passes. We can't say we never got enough of Sea World. In fact, we have already been 4 times this week and Maddie still wants to go see the "Shampoo Show" (Shamu).

Today we took them to the 3D Pirate movie. It was hilarious! We got to wear these awesome HUGE red glasses with water and air shooting out of our seats. The croud would start laughing and at the same time kids would start screaming~Maddie and Brynlee were some that were screaming. It totally freaked them out and now Maddie keeps telling us that the spider jumped in her face (it really seemed like it did, I was scared)!!

So to help her feel better we went to the Shamu show and it was amazing as always. I could watch it over and over and over. Sometimes I wish I could be a trainer and swim with the whales.

Then Brynlee and I hung out and ate some snacks while Isaac took Maddie on the "big, blue, twirly slide!" She had a blast and keeps telling Brynlee that when she is three years old she can be big and go on rides too!!

New Home!

Well we are finally in. After a whirlwind ride, last minute changes, and down to the wire training for Isaac, cleaning, packing, Uhaul renting and loading, we are finally in. We have been waiting to move for a long time and now we are finally here. It will be nice to have the comforts of San Antonio, but we will definitely and surely miss our friends in Del Rio. The apartment is really nice and new and we were somehow able to fit everything in it...you cram enough stuff under the beds and you can make anything fit. Just kidding. Anyway, it will be nice to have week to take a break before we head out for family vacation. Maddie will get registered for dance and school, and we will try to keep Brynlee busy. She is more like Ike in that she is always curious and getting into stuff. Hopefully a pool and Sea World will help take care of her. We hope our friends will keep in touch and come visit us in San Antonio, thank you to all of those that helped us pack, move, fed us and made it possible for us to get here!

Farewell.............

After living in Del Rio for 5 years I have come to love this place! Really the people is what I have come to love. It is one of those moments that are bitter sweet. It was great to meet up with all my dear friends and have dinner at Chilis. I probably will not be going to Chili's for the next year, I know San Antonio has a variety of other places to eat! Although, I will miss the chips & salsa and Spicey Buffalo salad! Isaac is suprised at how my taste buds have changed. I could DRINK hot sauce now ( I prefer Franks~thanks Charis)! So, this is cheesy but I wanted to say thanks to everyone I have met here in Del Rio. You have all touched my life and made me want to be a better person and most of all a better mom. You won't be forgotten.

Potty Training Herself

Well hopefully this doesn't offend anyone, but at the risk of a little potty humor we just thought she was so cute with her proclamation of "I did it!" after her independent toilet time that we had to share it. She will come into into the room and say "pottie", strip off her clothes and chuck her diaper to the side and race off to the bathroom with her little white cheeks jigglin'. Then we will here the lid slam down, the toilet flush and once again, "I did it".

Sprinklers and Playdough

It has been SO hot-~like 103 degrees plus very humid! Unfortunately the pool on base is closed on Mondays. so I let the girls play on the front lawn with the sprinklers.-pretty cheap toy huh?! They had sponge brushes and were painting water on the sidewalk~It entertained them for a good hour and wasn't even messy! Then we played with the playdough and Maddie made a birthday cake with pink candles~she thinks her birthday is coming up really soon even though she just had one. Brynlee just ate the playdough...............it must taste good?!
