Farewell.............

After living in Del Rio for 5 years I have come to love this place! Really the people is what I have come to love. It is one of those moments that are bitter sweet. It was great to meet up with all my dear friends and have dinner at Chilis. I probably will not be going to Chili's for the next year, I know San Antonio has a variety of other places to eat! Although, I will miss the chips & salsa and Spicey Buffalo salad! Isaac is suprised at how my taste buds have changed. I could DRINK hot sauce now ( I prefer Franks~thanks Charis)! So, this is cheesy but I wanted to say thanks to everyone I have met here in Del Rio. You have all touched my life and made me want to be a better person and most of all a better mom. You won't be forgotten.

Potty Training Herself

Well hopefully this doesn't offend anyone, but at the risk of a little potty humor we just thought she was so cute with her proclamation of "I did it!" after her independent toilet time that we had to share it. She will come into into the room and say "pottie", strip off her clothes and chuck her diaper to the side and race off to the bathroom with her little white cheeks jigglin'. Then we will here the lid slam down, the toilet flush and once again, "I did it".

Sprinklers and Playdough

It has been SO hot-~like 103 degrees plus very humid! Unfortunately the pool on base is closed on Mondays. so I let the girls play on the front lawn with the sprinklers.-pretty cheap toy huh?! They had sponge brushes and were painting water on the sidewalk~It entertained them for a good hour and wasn't even messy! Then we played with the playdough and Maddie made a birthday cake with pink candles~she thinks her birthday is coming up really soon even though she just had one. Brynlee just ate the playdough...............it must taste good?!

Mmm..........Smores!

While Brynlee was napping, Maddie and I made some yummy smore bars. She was a very good helper and reminded me often that the stove was hot and also to stir slowly so the chocolate didn't spill out of the pan. Look at what a good job she did! She is becoming my little shadow in the kitchen.

Josh Groban, pop and classical singer, has such a beautiful voice. I started listening to his CD a few days ago while driving the car. The girls sit so quietly in their carseats, its like magic! Maddie seems to love the song "All Improvsso Amore." I have no clue what the words are since it's in another language but it's very powerful. Maddie calls it the "fenafenalarayyasong." She always asks me to change the station back to her song. After getting back from the store this afternoon, she was getting out of the car and asked if we could listen to the song again after naps.

Sleeping baby

My mom (known as "Neena") bought Brynlee this bunny from "Build A Bear." She LOVES it. Today after she woke up she was crying for "fen." I wondered, "what in the world is fen?" So she grabbed bunny and that is when I knew what she was talking about. I told her to say "Bunny." She had this huge grin on her face and she yelled, "FUNNY!"

Swim Lessons

Maddie is in her second week at swim lessons. She is doing great! Right now she is in level 1 but her teacher, Miss Tiffany, said that Maddie is doing so well that she's been incorporating level 2 in each of her lessons! Way to go Maddie!

Here she is holding on the the knee board by all her classmates. Miss Tiffany is teaching them how to float and kick their legs.

Flowers

I used to hate to weed the garden only because it was a chore growing up. Surprisingly now, I really do like it! It's very invigorating and a great stress reliever! I have one little garden and the darn flowers keep dying on me!! I am pretty sure the 106 degree weather is the cause. Anyways, I bought this flower pot at Home Depot and I am so proud to say that I've kept these flowers alive! I love driving by the house and seeing the bright colors.

Birthday Cake

Brynlee's Birthday Cake was designed at the best and only store here-WALMART!! Isn't it cute! A little princess crown with all her favorites princesses!

Happy Independence Day!

We hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th of July Holiday. Funny how 4th of July is more prevalent than Independence Day, but anyway we are trully grateful for the wonderful freedoms we enjoy. May we all remember what we have!

Brynlee's Birthday

Bright eyed and bushy tail she woke up to a room full of presents and excited cheers. Throughout the day she got to go out to lunch with her sister, Mommy and Daddy, play princess, and top it off with a great Birthday party at the pool and of course some delicious cake. Oh...I almost forgot to mention, cotton candy...that's right, sugary, melt-in-your-mouth, yummy cotton candy! Happy Birthday Brynlee!
